Bass to bluegill fly fishing

Stephen and Patrick's Favorite Flies

Soon we will upload more flies and future tying videos.

The wooly bugger is probably one of the most popular streamers ever created.  It's a relatively simply tie if you are an experienced tier, and if you are a beginner then this fly can teach you some very important tying skills.

My favorite colors are either olive hackle and marabou with black chenille or just plain olive.  I've found that the most effective ways to fish this in still lakes are just dead drifting, or using short erratic strips.  In my opinion, dead drifting in small ponds and lakes works best for bass because it looks like a small crayfish.

The Patrick's Sparkle Craw is a new fly I (StephenJS) created for Patrick's (Tallfishman1) birthday this winter.  It is a very interesting crawfish pattern, and I purposely created the marabou tail to mimic a crawfish with smaller claws.  The point of this was to create a less threatening  crawdad look for largemouth bass.

If anyone tries tying this and has any luck fishing, please send a picture of the fish to our e-mail found on the Fish Pictures Page. Also, I know the picture of this fly is pretty bad we will soon come out with a video for tying this fly.  If you have any questions just shoot me an e-mail.
