Any of you freshwater fly fishermen, saltwater fly fishing is a must. In my opinion, the fish fight harder, and are more aggressive. The flies are relatively similar to freshwater flies. As long as the fly mimics the bait that is most common, you are good to go! You do not have to match the hatch perfectly for most of the fish. Some of my favorites include jacks, lady fish, and snook. As long as you strip fast, it practically doesn't matter what kind of fly it is!

When I fly fish in saltwater, I fly fish off of west palm beach. I have not yet had a chance to go to the flats and catch the tarpon and bonefish, but I soon hope to. Some of my favorite flies include: Clouser minnows, gummy minnows, crab patterns, and shrimp patterns. Some of these I tie myself.

Saltwater fly fishing is a great way to fly fish. I certainly recomend it to anyone that fly fishes.
